One can play two independent musical parts with two hands: the ’pianistic’ approach.
In this case one hand (left hand) will play the bass notes on the 4 lowest strings and the other hand (right hand) plays the chords or melody on the 5 highest strings, most of the time. This demands some practise.
Or one can play one musical part with both hands, this is rather a ‘guitaristic’ approach.
This is very adventurous and innovative and can be done from the first minute, without practising.
The best ways to start is with one hand, one musical part.
We shall call this ‘single-handed‘ whereas ‘double-handed‘ is the standard way of playing, be it guitaristic of pianistic.
